Very solid stories of the weird, including "The Birds" which manages to be even scarier than the rather different movie Hitchcock made of it. "Split Second" is also very appealing.
I love DuMaurier's stories, starting way back when with this collection. That title story is brilliant and creepy.
I was very susceptible to boo-scary reads back in the day, and this made my blood run cold.
