Born and raised in south Louisiana, Donna and her husband lived in Maryland briefly before returning to their roots and raising a family. Donna taught high school physics, chemistry and biology before attending graduate school for a library science degree. She then worked in school libraries for over fifteen years, emphasizing her passion for information literacy and teaching children to be effective, lifelong learners.Currently, she is working on a young adult historical fiction novel which chronicles the expulsion of the Acadians from Nova Scotia in 1755 and their subsequent journey and settlement in Louisiana. When she's not spending time with family or writing, Donna enjoys hiking, gardening, traveling, and volunteering her time for adults with autism.
