Donna Talarico is presently web content editor in the Office of Marketing and Communications at Elizabethtown college. She brings more than a decade of writing, marketing, media and web-related experience to her position at the college. Most recently, she served as interactive marketing specialist at Solid Cactus, an e-commerce and internet marketing services company in northeast Pennsylvania. There, Talarico strengthened existing client relationships and developed new business by overseeing the company's blogging, newsletter, editorial and social networking efforts. In addition, she produced and maintained content for the company's websites and creatively contributed to its online and traditional marketing campaigns.In spring 2010, Talarico served as an adjunct instructor at Wilkes University, for which she designed and taught a new social media and public relations course. She also has conducted a number of blogging and social media workshops at both industry events and within the northeast Pennsylvania business and writing communities.For 11 years, Talarico has been a freelance correspondent for Wilkes-Barre's daily newspaper, The Times Leader, and its sister alternative weekly, The Weekender. She also has contributed to a regional quarterly, The Independent, and the nationally-distributed Games Magazine. Prior to joining Solid Cactus, Talarico served as an admissions representative at a post-secondary career school, where she was inducted into the President's Club for exceeding annual admissions goals. In addition, she worked as a radio station promotions director, where she received a Country Radio Broadcasters promo award.Talarico earned a bachelor's degree in communication studies and master of fine arts in creative writing from Wilkes University, for which she also serves as a member of the Alumni Board.She resides in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania and enjoys reading, writing, memoirs, the outdoors, local arts and music and plays a mean game of Scrabble.
