Wow. I just. WOW.My friend Cindy recommended this book to me, and she was like, "Liana, you should read it! It's so good!" And when she says something is good, it's always true. Well, 90% of the time.Anyways, Cindy insisted that it was a lot like Kristin Cashore's FIRE. But I still think it's more l...

This was a story about how two royals were forced into marriage by allying their countries -- the Blue Crescent Islands and the country of Gerfal. That being said, the people of Gerfal find the women of the Islands preposterous and are completely believed to be practicing witchcraft. So what do you ...

I was surprised by how much I liked this. I went into it expecting a lighthearted chick-lit type fantasy, but there's more to it than that and it went deeper.

I do so enjoy books where faith is not something the characters have to get over. And even more if it's something that they draw strength from! Also, for a book written by a diplomat, this is BLOODY.

While Golding has an excellent writing style and nice flow, I found myself skimming a few random parts that were only cosmetic to the story, and was...
I Am Carina And I Speak For The Books!
This is one book I will NOT rate down.I know that to most people the overdescriptions will be a turn off. And to tell you the truth, in other books, the sameting has happened to me. But this is the exception! All the little details and descriptions gave me such a clear picture of the world Taoshira a...

Ahh it's been quite a while since I read this. However, I remember it was a cute book, very sweet and funny, but also exciting. Sorta like Graceling in an epic-journey kind of way, but a bit more light-hearted. :) Good stuff.

A gorgeous fantasy novel with lots of humour, romance and action. I was especially intrigued by how Tashi and Ramil not only had to learn how to get along, but had to learn to accept the traditions and culture of each other's countries. And I was totally taken in by Tashi's self-appointed protector G...
