Four friends on an annual hunting trip find themselves in the middle of an alien invasion… King has said that “Dreamcatcher” is the least favourite of his novels. It was written when he was recovering from a car accident and doped up on painkillers. Some of the descriptions of the physical suffering...

I swear, as I closed this book for the final time, I threw my arms open like Tim Robbins at the end of Shawshank Redemption (also a King novel). Gawd, this book was a beast. But despite it's intimidating size, I really enjoyed it. Now I'm going to crash for a while and have a book hangover.

Sigh... You ready? Let's get this over with. With Dreamcatcher, Stephen King tried to recapture the magic of It while simultaneously making up for the shithouse rat that was The Tommyknockers. Stephen Kings characters are real, complex and full of depth. This book adds a different twist to a typical alien parasite story.I could not put it down.

There is a lot of repetitiveness even among the main characters, they will be talking about something that ha...

Or maybe it was a 2-star. Read too long ago for much accuracy in the rating. I do recall not being surprised to hear this was written while Stephen King was recovering from his road accident, and I couldn't help but wonder what kind of pain killers he was on.

Whew... There's a lot that I want to say about this book, and I'm not really sure where to start. I first read this book back in... oh, 2002 or 2003, maybe, and I can absolutely say that I did NOT get much out of it. Sure, it's still a thrill ride, still entertaining, but it was definitely not his b...

It's well written (nothing else would have been expected from Mr. King) and the characters are well developed. The story itself is interesting too, but it was very predictable and the group of friends was split up too quickly for my taste. It wasn't as much suspense for me as I had expected or wanted ...
