Dr Duncan McDonnell is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Government and International Relations at Griffith University in Brisbane. He was previously a Marie Curie Fellow and a Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. He has also worked as a Politics lecturer and researcher at the University of Turin and has been a Swiss National Science Foundation Fellow at the University of Lausanne and a Leverhulme Fellow at the University of Birmingham.His main current research interests are political parties, populism and Euroscepticism. He is the co-author (with Daniele Albertazzi) of Populists in Power (Routledge, 2015) and the co-editor of Twenty-First Century Populism (Palgrave, 2008). In recent years, he has published articles in journals such as the European Journal of Political Research, Political Studies, Party Politics, West European Politics, and Government & Opposition.
