“[Tami Hoag] demonstrates just why she has become one of the hottest names in the suspense game. Bottom line: Leaves competition in the dust.”—People Sorry. The single word is written on a mirror. In front of it hangs a Minneapolis Internal Affairs cop. Was it suicide? Or a kinky act turned tragic? Either way, it wasn’t murder. At least not according to the powers that be. But veteran homicide detective Sam Kovac and his wisecracking, ambitious partner, Nikki Liska, think differently. Together they begin to dig at the too-neat edges of the young cop’s death, uncovering one motive—and one suspect—after another. The cloud of suspicion falls not only on the city’s elite, but over the very heart of the police department. Someone wants the case closed—quickly and forever. But even with their careers and their lives on the line, neither Kovac nor Liska will give up. As they unearth a connection between a two-month-old murder case and one that has been closed for twenty years, they find themselves chasing a killer who will stop at nothing to keep a dark and shattering secret. “Without a doubt, one of the most intense suspense writers around.”—Chicago Tribune “Tami Hoag is the queen of the crime story.”—New York Post

Series: Kovac and Liska (#2)
Though I know that Hoag has "Ashes to Ashes" as the first Kovac and Liska book. I always thought "Dust to Dust" was the first book in the series. Mainly because we get Kovac and Liska's third person POVs in this one and the last book really focused on John Quinn and Kate Conlan. "Dust to Dust' has K...
I'm not exactly sure it was 5-star-worthy but it was an interesting book. I couldn't put it down and to me that is all that matters! This and the fact that it kept you guessing at the bad guy until the last second!
There's a serial killer loose in Minneapolis and now he's broken pattern and abducted and presumably killed someone other than a prostitute. Now he's got the attention of the community, law enforcement and the press, and a new moniker...The Cremator, because of what he does to his victims after he'...
Audiobook. Abridged. First of all Jon Tenney did a great job, even with the females. This book was good, not a HEA but I don't need that with books I read. Kovac and Lista are called in when a fellow officer is dead, maybe by suicide. In trying to solve this death, they learn the secrets of one ...
Veteran cop Sam Kovac and partner Nikki Liska are investigating several things at once. An internal affairs cop dead of apparent suicide, a paraplegic cop dead of apparent suicide, a 20 year old murder where one of the current victims was a victim, a closed case of a homosexual cops brutal murder a...
