Following on from my recent excursion into the current Nebula crop, my wife asked me to choose some older Nebula winners for her to read. Our choice was influenced by what was available either from the library or cheap on amazon, so this - the 2012 Andre Norton winner - was what came up. So far t...

Actual rating: 2.5A butterfly flapped its wings off the coast of Brazil and I ended up not enjoying this book, can't we just leave it at that so I don't have to get all analytical? No? Fine.Let's be honest here, who among us hasn't at one time or another, yearned for the ability to make wishes. From ...

Este libro definitivamente está entre mis favoritos. Si bien en ciertos momentos es bastante predecible, hay pocos giros que da la historia que son de los que no te esperas. Fair Coin was really different. Just when I thought that I had it figured out it changed the game on me. While using some common ideas Myers turned the typical sci-fi, urban fantasy thing on it's head. I really enjoyed playing along. Sometimes the characters were a little too flimsy, though.

Sixteen-year-old Ephraim Scott is used to depressing home comings, with his alcoholic mother frequently too drunk for her own good. But when he finds her clutching a bottle of pills, having tried to kill herself, he is horrified. His mother seems deeply confused to see him, claiming the reason for h...

I have mixed feelings about this book, but I'm disappointed for sure. It's not bad though. It's a quick and easy read, good to spend a boring afternoon with. The difference between the first and the second half of the book felt very distinct. At first, for all we know, the coin is magical. It even fits...

This book was so freaking awesome. There are tons of surprises. I love how it was so unpredictable. I cannot wait for the second book.
