2788. Only the handicapped live on Earth. Eighteen-year-old Jarra is among the one in a thousand people born with an immune system that cannot survive on other planets. Sent to Earth at birth to save her life, she has been abandoned by her parents. She can't travel to other worlds, but she can watch...

It was okay. I still haven't decided if I'm going to continue the series, not because of the story, but because of the tiny print. I don't know who made that choice, but it's a deterrent for me.

YA Science Fiction that focuses on action and the skills of the main character, no love triangle or insta-love in sight? YES! Does the world building excel? No, but perhaps the author held some aspects back for the 2nd and 3rd books. What did Earth Girl have going for it? Intriguing premise ...

A good read with interesting characters and an intriguing world. I actually got this book out of my local library so I will be requesting the second installment when I get the opportunity. Despite the good story there were more than several instances that stand out for me where the author seems t...

I couldn't put it down, and when I finished reading it last night (up past my bedtime) and went to sleep, I dreamt about this world and the people in it, though more surreal and dream like, of course. My dream back log is often tw...

I don’t read a lot of science fiction and this is not a perfect book--for one thing the main character is maybe a little bit of a good-at-everything Mary Sue--but the story held me enthralled anyway. I love the several hundred years in the future setting when most of humanity is living in off-plane...

Talk about a very straightforward story about girl vs environment. The only conflicts that cause emotion were from natural disasters. No backstabing, evil villains, or a super complicated plot. Just a girl defying the odds of racism in terms of space travel. Therefore, it was an easy read. Some par...

Surprisingly good first half, but really started to lose me in the second. By about 85%, I was rushing to finish, cuz I was over it. Review to come.

Actual rating: 4.5I started reading this book with less than stellar (I am completely incapable of writing a review without at least one bad pun) expectations.Really? I mean Earth Girl as a title? I know, prejudice against the title...Khanh, you stupid, immature little girl. I have my reasons, thoug...

Jarra lives in the future, where the majority of mankind has traveled on to other planets and the defects, those with an immune system that cannot survive off Earth, are left on the home planet. Jarra takes a risk and applies to a prestigious non-Earth school's History program. She shows her worth a...
