This creates a complex illusion that is part fact and part fiction. It is a fact that we can see two different axes, geographic and magnetic. It is fiction because mathematically, the planet is only rotating on its magnetic axis. However, the axis of rotation is forced to tilt away from the magnetic axis because of the offset.
