Eimear McBride grew up in the west of Ireland and studied acting at Drama Centre London. She wrote he first novel 'A Girl is a Half-formed Thing' at 27 and spent most of the next decade trying to have it published. It was eventually taken up by a small UK publisher, Galley Beggar Press, in 2013 and went on to win the inaugural Goldsmiths Prize, the Kerry Group Irish Novel of the Year and the Bailey's Prize for Women's Fiction. She currently lives in Norwich with her husband and daughter and is working on her second novel.

Am truly sorry I could not like this one - and in the interests of fairness I should say I stopped at 50% so this review is really just a quick one to say that despite several attempts and going back and reading bits again I just didnt "get" it.
