Well that was bloody delightful!! Everyone knows someone a bit like Ove that instantly dislikable grumpy fuck who somehow edges into your life and you come to realise is just a big ol' softy inside. This book was a bit like Ove, I read a few chapters here and there. Ove irritated and frustrated ...

[His wife] often said that "all roads lead to something you were always predestined to do." And for her, perhaps, it was something. But for Ove it was someone. I've been fully intending to read all of Fredrik Backman's books after I read My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry (3 years ago...

Such a beautiful story. Heart breaking, heartwarming and completely enjoyable. Each character had such personalities, oi, I loved them all. I miss Ove already. Now I'm of to listen to a funny book to lighten my mood.

People said Ove saw the world in black and white. But she was color. All the color he had. It's funny when you know a book has the potential to make you emotional, but you still get punched in the face by the feels as soon as you finish the last pages. Because to me, that's always when the feeling...

I read this for my real life book group which met and talked about this book two Monday's ago. Yep, I'm always with the program. There is no point in writing a review for this book since I am still lazy and there are currently 37211 reviews on Goodreads and 141 of them written by my friends alone....

I really am a judgmental girl. The synopsis, the cover – all left me eyeing the book laying on my shelf with utter distaste. Honestly, if I hadn’t been on vacation, bookless, and feeling like I should at least read a couple pages to tell the friend that had lent it to me that I tried, I would have m...

This is a nice story, but there are quite a few things I didn't like about it. The first is Ove himself. I would have liked him better if he just lives his own life based on his strict principles, but by his involvement in the Residents' Association he seems to want to regulate how other people in t...

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life in BooksI really enjoyed this audiobook. This isn't the kind of book that I would have normally picked up but I saw so many wonderful reviews for it that I decided to give it a closer look. When I caught it on sale on Audible, I decided to go for...

I'm marking this as read just now, because it took me like almost an hour to stop crying. I loved this book. I knew it would break my heart but I also knew it was going to be an amazing read. I recommed this book to everyone. It's amazingly written, and it portrays the characters in a way that you...

Overall I really enjoyed A Man Called Ove. I liked that Ove was a grumpy old man and not a typical heroic character. He was difficult to like, but I felt his story did a good job of explaining who he was.I also really enjoyed all the side characters in the book. I've read several other reviews an...
