The Fifth Elephant is the fifth book in the Watch subseries of Discworld. As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, my enjoyment of the Watch books has grown as the series has progressed. With this book however, I wasn’t as entertained by it as I had been by the last couple. I’m not sure if it was t...
Philosophical Musings of a Book Nerd
There was a time that I loved the adventures of Constable Carrot, Captain Vimes, and Nobby Nobbs, but is seems as of late the stories are starting to become really, really dry. Okay, maybe there are other factors, but I really don't seem to be able to get into the Pratchet books any more, to the poi...

Vimes has to do diplomacy in Ubervald and deal with prejudice. Meanwhile Carrot has to deal with a choice between Anghua and the city. The Dwarves are selecting a king, the Scone of Stone has gone missing.Great fun as usual.

Unfortunately, Uberwald is a backward country. Industry is undeveloped, except in the dwarfs’ mines. The werewolves rampage an...

I read The Fifth Elephant again because I needed to relax.I wonder if it's even worth saying anything about a book that already has 30,000+ reviews? Just this perhaps. What makes Terry Pratchett at his best a fantastic author? Lot's of things, but have you notice his gift for rhetoric? He spends hal...

Loved this one, loved the way we get more of a sense of who Sybil is. My only complaint is that this means I’m getting close to the end of the Watch books. Nooooo.

Not bad. Pratchett is always a smart choice for some good clean fun between larger books.
