In "Crossed", Eliza Crewe pulls off something unusual, an end to a trilogy that is satisfying, surprising and not focused on blowing stuff up.You know how trilogies go: you've built up the power of the big bad and the scenario where you have to save the world and then you have a final battle and, wi...

It is a truth universally acknowledged that the second book of a trilogy is always the weakest... but not this time. "Crushed" takes all the things that were good about "Cracked", amplifies them and then adds a depth of thought that grabbed hold of my brain while the rest of the story twisted my emo...

"Cracked" has Cool carved into its forearm with a Stanley Knife. The opening draws Meda, our evil-but-wittily-self-aware more-than-human teenage heroine, in a series of fast, confident, blood-red claw strokes that create an image as clear and succinct as a Kanji. We start at night, with a crazed...

"The Hunger seethes under my skin, and my chest swells with joy—no, more than joy. It’s a fierce, violent desire that obliterates the other, weaker, emotions. My world focuses to a needle-sharp point: her. Ending her." Okay, truth be told it took me nearly half a year to get around to this book and ...

Meda, my favourite Soul Eater... person is back! :D And with her comes the usual array of cockiness, self-preservation and humility... *snort*, just seeing if you were paying attention, that are her known trademarks. Now, what can I say about this story? First of, I have to start by saying that ...

I love love love this series! Eliza Crewe has a writing style that is equal parts flippant, Real, sarcastic and all around awesome! The characters are so unforgettable that I find myself thinking about them (especially Meda and newly introduced, yet highly swoon worthy, Armand) throughout my day. #1...

Worthy finale! I have to say I did have my doubts halfway through, but, oh my, was this goooood. Oh, and it DID have some VERY MINOR romanace part: "He tried to sell your soul to the devil; you chained him up and left him to die." "All relationships are complicated." Now I have to wait for a...

Meda is still the best female NA heroine I read. Her inner voice just cracks me up. Her friends are still cool. The story was solid. I enjoyed the hell out of it.

This was an awesome ride. Meda is the coolest heroine I read in a long, long time. Not only because she is a bad-ass monster with (some) morals - no, it's because her very honest and not in the slightest apologetic inner monologues are brilliant fun. She knows herself, she knows she is not "good...

Oh, my dear Meda. What a snarky little bitch you are. I love this character, especially since she is the MC and not a side character smushed in for comic relief. She is manipulative and conniving and totally fun. It is refreshing to see an MC that isn’t some perfect porcelain doll. Meda is flaw...
