Found myself skimming quite frequently. I never really connected with the characters. The story was never engaging enough to make me stop caring that the writing was only so-so.
An enjoyable story of mistaken identity, but this does not work well as a standalone. I had read none of the preceding novels, so spent the first 70 pages or so in complete confusion. I liked it that the hero/heroine were older than the typical HR.
