Elizabeth Bridges is a writer and professor in Memphis, Tennessee. She once dreamed of becoming a radio astronomer like Elanor Arraway in Carl Sagan's Contact. When the language arts proved more her forte, she set her sights instead on becoming a professor and author. Her scholarly work concentrates on German studies and media. She sneaks her genre fiction interests into the classroom in comparative literature courses like "Other Worlds" and "Monsters, Madness, and Mechanical Men." Her academic publications include a study of European folklore in Buffy and an examination of the Hitler-clone theme 1970s pop culture. Her short story "Breathe" will appear in the anthology Athena's Daughters 2, due out in May 2015. The prequel to that story, "Run," is available here on Amazon. She is currently at work on Emissary's Errand, a near-future, first-contact, buddy road trip novel about a very tall winged humanoid and a Buddhist monk.
