Elizabeth Claire was born in the Bronx, moved a dozen times as a child and was always a "newcomer" and sensitive to the trials of learning to fit in. She was inspired by her grandmother's stories of struggles as an immigrant and troubles learning English, so becoming an ESL teacher was a natural fit for her. Always preparing her own materials for her students, she left teaching to write full time for a much larger audience.Elizabeth is the author of 26 books in print as well as ten books on Kindle. She now resides in Virginia Beach, is a member of Toastmasters, and a graduate of the Landmark Forum and 40 seminars with Landmark Education. Shortly after winning the 2012 Mensa Education and Research Foundation's Award for Intellectual Benefit to Society for her work with Easy English NEWS, a monthly publication for English language learners, Elizabeth Claire won the 2012 New Jersey TESOL President's award for commitment to English language learners.
