Elizabeth King Gerlach is an award-winning author who lives in Oregon with her husband and black Labrador. She is the mother/stepmother to four great young men. Her latest efforts include two children's books. For the book "One Lucky Flower," Gerlach has teamed up with illustrator and designer Jean Yates to create a story filled with courage and cupcakes. "Apples for Cheyenne: A Story About Autism, Horses and Friendship," was illustrated by Kim Miller, a young woman with autism. Her book, "Autism Treatment Guide," was the first objectively written guide to treatments for autism. Her second book, "Just This Side of Normal: Glimpses Into Life with Autism" garnered the Autism Society of America's "Outstanding Literary Achievement Award," in 2000. Gerlach has written for many publications including Mothering Magazine, Cup of Comfort,The Hero Series and Autism/Asperger's Digest.
