She received an Excellence Award from Working Woman magazine and was named one of "Pennsylvania's Best 50 Women in Business." As Mrs. Pennsylvania 1994, she represented Pennsylvania women, speaking on family and women's issues statewide. A summa cum laude graduate of Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing, she received her MBA from the Katz School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh.
