Well, Spirit Hunters might have been my first book from Ellen Oh, but it won't be my last. (As long as she's doing more MG. No urge to read her YA stuff.) This was a seriously creepy middle-grade read that had me all wrapped up in what was going on. I started reading it with my eight year old, but a...
I'm not a huge short story reader nor a big fan of middle grade books but this was cute and a fast read. Grace Lin had my favorite story. I'm not sure if a middle grade student would really enjoy this one as the stories tend to end too quickly (hence why I never like short stories myself). I'll b...
Fallen Kingdoms, mysterious prophecies, armies, demons and a KICK ASS girl warrior with a grand destiny that will take this adventurous tale a long, long way! Ordering Warrior tomorrow!
I mean wow, she had to do it to me. Actual rating 4.5, Review can also be seen here: http://twinjabookreviews.blogspot.com/p/our-reviews.html Warrior is the long awaited sequel to Prophecy, a story based in a mythological-fantastical Korea, with a heroine with bite. Kira has accepted she is ...
You can check out my other reviews at Scott Reads It! Prophecy easily was one of my favorite books of 2013 and I was so excited to read more of Kira's adventures in Warrior. Ellen Oh is such an amazing author (and an extremely epic person), I truly applaud her for making such an engaging fant...
Continuing from the first book, this book picks up right where the last one ends. It has so much action, I LOVE IT! Plot: So this plot moves on with Kira leading the fight and moving on. Many trials come against Kira, leaving her to become even stronger. I really like how each chapter, the reader ...
Hmm, this is a hard book to review. Overall, I enjoyed Prophecy but some things just didn't seem right to me. Prophecy was pretty cool in some parts, dull in others, and sometimes the parts just moved to fast to catch anything. (There were so many "bad guys" I started getting confused about who did ...
It's really a 3.5. There's such a thing as TOO many superpowers, but I found Kira an engaging heroine. I also like how some of the characters are not completely good or evil. Good to have some realistic grey areas. Curious to see what happens next.
After reading Prophecy, by Ellen Oh, I went to Goodreads and read the reviews. A lot of people were comparing it to Graceling or Eon. Well, I haven't read any of those books, so I cannot compare it to either. I do, however, know that Graceling has a female protagonist who is almost like Kira in Pro...
