Am I missing something? Why is this so popular? Eloise is a terrible child. While I might be able to read this to my 2.5 year old twins and have them enjoy the illustrations, there is no way I could read it to my 5 year old without him trying to emulate her horrible behavior. Because if its okay ...

When I was younger, I remember watching the Eloise television series all the time. They were my favorite! It is about a young girl that grew up in a luxurious hotel and I found it fascinating. I recently ran across this book and thought it would be a great one to share in my classroom for some of th...

This is another books I really see the girls in my future classroom loving! These book are probably most appropriate for a 4th grade classroom. This would be a book I would just have in my classroom library and have them read it for pleasure. These books are also movies that I could inform the class...

There are no words in the English language or any language for that matter that would even begin to describe how much I love this book. Well, some words come to mind. Spunky, creative, pink, scibble, skitter, sklonk, all of these and many more might, just might begin to put into words how much I lov...

I know this a perennial favorite but this book didn't do anything for me. Eloise is a spoiled child living in a hotel. The story of how she spends her time left me wanting to enforce a little parental attention. Perhaps I am past the prime age for this one.

I love this just as much in middle age as I did when I was a youngster. Funny and charming and delightfully illustrated. I still have my first copy.

I'd be lying if I didn't say that Eloise struck me as a bit of a tragic figure - the quintessential poor little rich girl. The set up is that Eloise lives in the posh Plaza hotel. Her parents are not in the picture - mom is only vaguely mentioned as being out of the country. She does have a nanny w...

Eloise is a little girl who lives in the Plaza Hotel and pretty much makes the hotel staffs' lives miserable in a quest to entertain herself. She speaks in long, run-on sentences, uses terrible grammar, and I don't believe there is one period in the entire book. It's still absolutely delightful.

I never read Eloise as a child. It was probably banned in Alvin. Eloise is a six year old girl who lives in the Plaza Hotel in New York City, with a mostly absent mo...
