Alexia Tarabotti has moved from the social wilderness her spinsterhood, unfortunately dark complexion (courtesy of her Italian father), her overly-endowed figure and her status as a preternatural (also know as curse-breaker or soul-sucker) had condemned her, to the centre of society by her transform...

This is a re-read, but on audio. My original review is here, although it's very, very short. The only thing I'll add to it is to say that Emily Gray turns a very good book into an outstanding story with her narration. Truly, the books are better in audio than they are in print.

ReviewBlameless is full of action, and dealing with all the emotions. Alexia is trying to figure out how to deal with her situation on her own, and Lord Maccon is busy acting like an idiot.Alexia is lucky to have friends like Madame Lafoux. She accompanies her on her trip, and does what she can to m...

ReviewChangeless is a great follow up to Soulless. The characters are so much fun!Alexia cannot stay out of trouble. She's like a flashing neon sign that says "Here's trouble!" She's so funny, and doesn't let little things ruffle her feathers. Although I can't stand her sister. She is VILE! The conf...

Timeless was a good wrap-up to the series, though it wasn't my favorite of the five. I appreciated that Carriger addressed the issue of Alexia's mortality and Conall's immortality, I haven't seen many paranormal romances that take that into account without converting the other one to immortality - s...

Yet another solid installment, I can't wait to read the 5th book!Everything in the Parasol Protectorate series gets turned upside down in this book - new werewolves, new sides of characters, new vampire abodes. Not to mention there was an octomatons (an octopus automaton), which was nothing short of...

I don't really remember why I picked up my first Thursday Next novel, all those years ago, but I have sure liked every single one of them. The last few, I have chosen to get as audiobooks from Audible, and I think that has enhanced my enjoyment. I'll probably mention this once or ten times more: I t...

I made the huge mistake of reading other peoples reviews before reading this book. After the end of the last book I was sure this book would be one of those depressing wallow-in-misery books. It wasn't! This book was great. Lots of action and new characters. Most of the book was hilarious. So my adv...

Alexandria, EgyptI found this Victorian dress on Pinterest, pinned from “Old Rags” website. Its practical nature would surely appeal to Alexia Tarabotti, Lady Maccon.★★★★½ (This is a review of the audiobook.) Ah! My little kumquats, I do so love this series. Sorry to see this fifth and final book ...
