Emma Burstall read English at Christ's College, Cambridge University, and began her career as a cub reporter on the Western Morning News in Plymouth. Her novels are The Darling Girls, Never Close Your Eyes and Gym and Slimline, translated into several languages. Her journalism has appeared in the Guardian, Daily Mail, Sunday Express, Independent on Sunday, Red, Good Housekeeping, Candis and Woman & Home. She lives in Kingston upon Thames with her husband, the political commentator Kevin Maguire, and their three children. She likes reading (a lot), running (slowly) and hanging out with friends and family.
