He parents were both designers and from as far back as she can remember she wanted to be an illustrator.Emma studied Graphic Design and Illustration at Central Saint Martin's School of Art, London, and has worked in advertising, editorial and book illustration.She was nominated for the Booktrust Early Years Award in 2006 for her book "What Pet to Get" and in 2009 for "Miaow said the Cow"Emma lives with her husband and two children and their Jack Russel Terrier, Bart, who keeps her fit and provides inspiration.

My first thought upon reading a page of this was " it's a greeting card; a particularly charmingly illustrated greeting card." My second thought was "that's brilliant!" This is stuff many parents are awkward verbalizing to their children: maybe they've never heard an adult say such things to a child...

I won Foxy in Love by Emma Dodd on a facebook giveaway by Harper Collins Children Books. It was a cute book with great illustrations. A great read for Valentines Day.

Meh. Surprisingly I do not love all the picture books, although I don't bother to read or review many that don't delight me. Despite the cat, the book didn't work for me. Perhaps it was just too rushed, but the premise has no internal logic to support it, and if your premise is fantastic everyone'...
