www.emmaquay.comEmma Quay (pronounced 'kway') grew up in England, and has wanted to illustrate children's books for as long as she can remember. Since moving to Sydney in 1993, Emma has illustrated a wide range of award-winning children's picture books. Her memorable characters for "Bear and Chook", "Good Night, Me", "Reggie and Lu", "Daddy's Having a Horse" and "Cheeky Monkey" are favourites on many children's and library bookshelves. Emma is the author of the popular series of titles for very young children, "Friends for Keeps" ("Freinds are Forever" in the UK; "Hello, Friends" in the U.S.), illustrated by Anna Walker, and her much-anticipated recent collaboration with author Lisa Shanahan, "Bear and Chook by the Sea", is short listed for this year's CBCA Book of the Year Awards.A new picture book, "Shrieking Violet", which Emma both wrote and illustrated, is due for release in August 2010.More information, teachers' notes, activities, work in progress and full book lists are available at Emma's website at www.emmaquay.com

I don't normally review little kids' books, but I'd like to start including the ones I truly love. This series of board books is adorable, and I think their simple and sweet approach to concepts like bravery and sharing will be welcomed by parents of toddlers.
