So I had my son pick 5 books off either my book shelf or the kids and this book was one of his books. I thought it was good for the start of a series. Did it blow me away, no it didn't, did it Suck? No it did not, but it was a interesting book and makes me want to read the next book in the series. ...

This one was just too YA for me. Well written and well conceived but too noisy with teen emotions. This was probably amplified by the "I must emote every sentence at full volume" approach of the audiobook narrator. After 90 minute i decided it was a DNF.

Man, what a dark, depressing book! So, an apocalyptic event occurs, wiping out life as known. It's a mystery exactly what, until later in the book there are hints to it. Some people were evacuated to a safer area, while the others were left behind to fend for themselves. Some settled in the tunn...

TRIGGER WARNING: RAPE AND VICTIM BLAMING Let me make my rating clear, since this option wasn't available: I actually re-read this because the new one came out and I just looked at most of the reviews for this one and thought, "Damn, maybe I was just in a bad mood when I read it." The re-read...

My first assignment in my 10th grade English class was to describe how to cut the heart out of an artichoke, something I hadn't done before and honestly haven't done since. I had my mom pick me up one at the store she showed me how to do it. (we didn't exactly have the internet to look up a quick an...

That was better than I initially thought it would be. I really hate that the most interesting revelations are saved until the last minute.

4.5 stars, easyLong Live DeuceShe was pretty bad ass and I likes me a bad ass protagonist. Deuce: Was strong but compassionate. I didn't find her weak in the beginning though something in my mind wanted to roll it's eyes at her blind following of the rules. If I thought about it though, what else di...
