Eric McHenry is the poet laureate of Kansas. His newest book of poems, "Odd Evening," will be published by Waywiser Press in 2016. Others include "Mommy Daddy Evan Sage" (2011), a collection of children's poems with woodcuts by Nicholas Garland, and "Potscrubber Lullabies," which won the Kate Tufts Discovery Award in 2007. McHenry writes about poetry for the New York Times Book Review and other publications. He teaches creative writing at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
