Oh hell no what a weak ass, dumb ending. Oh, I won't be specific in order to avoid spoilers. If you haven't started this series yet, don't. [UPDATE: quoting a note at end from the author about publication delay because did not want to turn in a "weak" final book -- IMHO she did.] Basically...

I hope the second one is better, because this one wasn't that great. The bad things first: It really annoyed me how much beauty was an important element to Kelsey and how ugly and plain she says/thinks she is. It was constant and it was very weird too, considering she was raised in a far away home i...

This novel brings the trilogy to a close, introducing more characters and producing some surprises. the author keeps us guessing at every corner and this works on the whole. The jump between the past and present can get tiresome as can all the introspection but otherwise I enjoyed this story on the ...

Following on from "Queen of the Tearling", this second part of the trilogy hit me with quite a few surprises: Kelsea mind-travels back several generations to a pre-Crossing time and into the life of Lily and her encounter with William Tear, the "creator" of the Tearling. Meanwhile Mortmesne invades ...

This first volume sets the scene as Kelsea, the heir to the Tearling throne, is brought back to the capital to take the throne, facing assassins and plots all along the way. Nicely building up the action and bringing along...

I've loved this trilogy and feel loss now that it's over. The loss is compounded by the ending! Not at all what I expected. With the flashes of the past and the constant reminders of history repeating, I feel like I should've expected this conclusion. However.... ***********SPOILER************ ........

Kelsea knows that when she turns nineteen, it is time for her to take her rightful place as Queen, like her mother (who died when she was a baby) and grandmother before her. She has been raised far from civilisation, by two loyal servants, who did their best to prepare her in every way they could fo...

Very much a bridging novel, Kelsea is finding out what it means to be queen and what powers she has, the Red Queen is coming to invade and religion is being corrupting and bad.

Queen Kelsea Glynn has now asserted herself as Queen of the Tearling. However, some of her first actions, which have gained her the respect of her people, have firmly upset the Queen of Mortmesne and have fueled an impending war with the much larger and well armored Mort army. As war approaches, ...

Another one for the 12 Tasks!  This one was my dreidel pick (thank you mom for the dreidel) and thank you dreidel for getting this one off my tbr!   Princess Kelsea has been in hiding from soon after her birth.  Upon her nineteenth birthday, she will take her place as Queen of the Tearling.  Kelsea’...
