Erika Wolf is an Associate Professor of Art History and Visual Culture at the University of Otago, New Zealand. A native New Yorker, she completed degrees at Princeton and the University of Michigan. Her primary field of research is Soviet visual culture, but she has recently begun to explore photography in New Zealand and the Pacific. A visual historian and cultural critic, she recently published "Koretsky: The Soviet Photo Poster" and contributed extensively to "The Worker Photography Movement [1926-1939]: Essays and Documents" -- winner of the International Center of Photography's 2012 Infinity Award.
