Erin McNelis was a finalist in the Glimmer Train short story contest, and her fiction has appeared in Front Range Review literary magazine. She lives in southeastern Pennsylvania with a husband, a son, a cat, and a fish. It is in their company that she pores over books of any sort, but in particular the works of Willa Cather, Barbara Kingsolver, Cormac McCarthy, Alice Munro, and William Trevor. Willows and Violets is her first collection of short stories.
