I remember loving this book years (or decades?) ago in elementary school and given that it is set in Boston on the eve of the Revolutionary War, it was a perfect choice for a family road trip from Boston to Cape Cod. I hated this book. It was soooo dull. Johnny is such a weak, boring character, and he kept doing such stupid things. I practically wanted to yell at him, he got on my nerves so much. lol. the only cool part was that part of it took place in lexington MA, which is where i live, so that was kinda cool...
