Though younger then what I normally read, Behind the Gates was fun and refreshing. I liked how Luisa wasn't miserable all the time in her new world. She tried to find the best in things even as she kept her eyes open for trouble that might come. I can't wait to find out what happens next!
The characters were very real to me but there wasn't really a plot through most of the book. It was obvious we are suppose to think the school is evil but it sounds like an amazing place, environmental, focusing on people and personal strength rather than technology.
