Eva Claudia Schweitzer is a seasoned journalist and book author with more than twenty-five years' experience, though somehow she hasn't aged past thirty-five. Originally based in Berlin, she has spent part of the last fifteen years writing about the United States. She divides her time between Berlin, various international airports, and New York City, where she lives in a former Times Square hotel that once housed Lee Harvey Oswald.She has written seven books, among them one novel, "Hauptstadtroulette", a romantic comedy about a love triangle set in Berlin after the wall came down and, "Manhattan Moments", a light-hearted short story collection about life in New York City. Her newest book is about the Tea Party movement. As a journalist, she covers media and entertainment, but also Wall Street and politics. She writes mostly for Die ZEIT and ZEIT Online, as well as taz, die tageszeitung and several magazines.Her newest venture is a publishing company, Berlinica, at www.Berlinica.com. It publishes books, movies, and music from and about Berlin. Upcoming Berlinica books include "A Tramp in Berlin", about a journey Mark Twain made in 1891, "Berlin! Berlin!" by Kurt Tucholsky, and "Rocking the Wall," a book on Bruce Springsteen's Berlin concert.Before coming to New York, she was a metro editor at Der Tagesspiegel, covering real estate, architecture, and city planning, and before for taz, die tageszeitung, a leftwing daily. She earned the prestigous Theodor-Wolff-Award for a story about a murder in Berlin's real estate circles.
