“The Violet and the Tom” is a well written story that kept me interested until the very end; I really liked it even though I missed a pinch of salt here and there to have it spiced exactly to my taste. Court intrigues and adventures would have knocked my socks off! Sylvan tells us this story. He i...

I feel bad for not enjoying this story more. I mean, it was a free read on a genre that I like and it had a very interesting concept of role reversal. And yet I just couldn't make myself like the characters. :( I guess it just wasn't for me.

This story is a personal account of an Eromenos slave who was trained at the temples of Eros for the sole purpose of becoming a pleasure slave. After years of accepted abuse by his trainers and previous owner Sylvan is discovered ...

Guys, remember that BDSM quiz I took the other day? The one that told me I was only 36% sadist? I dare not take it again... Not because I wanted to slap the narrator of The Violet and the Tom, slave boy Sylvan, silly for a good 150 pages and then some... No, I came to the sudden realization that the...

2.5 starsUnlike the other two online m/m stories I've read, this is focused strictly on the romance, sex and dynamics between the main characters; not much of a plot otherwise. And I did find a few plot twists to be very convenient so that to ease the way between the heroes; I'd especially prefer th...

I really liked this book, and I must admit that I've never read anything like that. The plot was good and surprising. The writing skilled. And it's free read - the author should publish it. It's worth it.

I have to echo the sentiment of so many others and wonder how on earth this is free! Fantastically beautifully written, so much about this story is so nearly perfect!First, the prose is spectacular. In one of the author notes, Ms. Ocotillo says something about someone having trouble with her "high...

For the story, I'd say 3 stars, but for the way it's written, 4. This is a book where the 1st person narrative works really, really well. It gives just the right sort of intimate memoir style, with hints of "this happened quite some time ago". It also makes for a much more slowly paced story. There ...
