I had high hopes for this since everyone seemed to love it but it was little painful to read. It got better towards the end, when something actually started to happen, but not much.
Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she's returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld... this time forever. She has six months befor...
Okies, so I’d seen Everneath about. Liked the cover. Hadn’t read the blurb—nothing unusual there. And a friend offered to send me a copy, so of course I said YES! And then I started reading. Now … to be honest, the opening didn’t really wow me. Actually there were a few things that bugged me about t...
No-one realises that when Nikki was gone for six months she wasn't anywhere she could be found, not by her family anyway. She had been lured into the underneath, to serve as a power source for immortals, she's back, but she only has six months to say her goodbyes, to resolve her issues, before she ...

The book takes about 150 pages to get going, but it stays faithful to the usual genre tropes, such as having a love triangle, a persistently loyal love interest, and a mercurial immortal who muck...
From the first chapter of this book I loved it, although I did feel a bit funny about the plot being based off a urban myth or whatever you want to call it. Because re-tellings aren't always my thing. But I am so glad I continued! This story is amazing, and the characters are great. Throughout the e...
