I can't help but give this five stars. I love this series very much. It's funny. I can be stingy when it comes for Fairest or Cinderella, but I have trouble doing that with Fables, except Fables, Vol. 13: The Great Fables Crossover lost me because it was too smug I think and also because Jack gets o...

One of the things I've appreciated most in what I've watched of the television series Once Upon a Time (aside from the family friendly nature of it) is that it played cleverly with old stories I was entirely familiar with. At its best, Fables does precisely the same. In this volume the reader is int...

4 ½ Stars if I could. But since I can’t 4 stars. This was definitely one of the best volumes in awhile. The first four issues are some history of Snow White and Rose Red. I particularly liked the drawings of the roses in the background. In the fourth issue Rose Red is finally pulled from her depres...

Glad Rose Red is finally out of bed and that Frau Totenkinder has found herself some peace and happiness. This series continues to be fantastic and continues to surprise.

Hey, remember when Rose Red was bedridden and sidelines for months because of the death and romantic rejection of a dude she liked? Wasn't that awesome? This volume had highs and lows for me. Lows being the continued fuckery that is Rose Red's mental breakdown, which she overcomes in this volume only...

Rose Red is back. After spending Volume 13 in a deep depression and having joyless sex with -- *shudder* -- Jack Horner, Rose finally pulls herself together and takes up the mantle of leadership at The Farm, the home now to both the nonhuman Fables and the former residents of Fabletown (now once aga...

For being Rose Red's book, she really didn't take center stage except at the beginning. But that's okay, I was never very interested in her. Frau Totenkinder and her magical duel were more cool.
