This story sets up a lot of framework for what's coming - I haven't read ahead, I just know that 'Fables' has a very, very long way to go and I've gotten the hang of Willingham's foreshadowing. The 'Sons of Empire' arc introduces readers to the Empire's plans for revenge on Fabletown and the poten...

Sons of Empire was my last Fables installment before I stated a voluntary hiatus from the series. Fact is, I love this series, and I am not eager to get burned out on it, or to be devastated when it's over. So I am going to take a break and investigate other graphic novel series for a little bit. Tr...

This volume was different then the usual Fables in a sense that we got different insight into Bigby's life with Snow and the kids and why he isn't nice in regards to his father, Mr. North! We get insight about the Adversary and his mission to destroy earth which is creepy in regards to other fables ...

I'm going to come right out and say it: Fables is one of the most remarkably consistent graphic novel or comic book series that I have ever read. I liked this volume. Not as action-packed as the previous few but I loved the build up of the empire's plans for our world. Is it bad that frequently when I read evil plans to destroy our world I get really excited about them?

By far the best volume in the series so far. Great stories, fantastic character development, perfect balance of serious and light-hearted, absolutely stunning.

Great graphic novel. I truly like the Fables world, and I recommend these books. They are rich in stories, the world is imaginative, and the battle between the exiles and the adversary is gonna be quite epic, when it comes to that. I also like the illustrators, they have done a good job.

This volume is pretty much filler, a lot of very short stories that mostly aren't germane to the larger story arc.
