Impressive effort to chronicle the development of a villain. While Levana's choices are obviously destructive, Meyer is able to give them some sense of relatability, or at least inevitability, and delves into motivation without justifying.

~*Full review notes on The Bent Bookworm!*~“Love is a conquest. Love is a war.”Feels:I went into this absolutely positive I would never feel anything remotely akin to sympathy for Levana. She’s such an unholy terror in the other books! And seemingly without reason. I felt like she just liked being e...

I can't deny that I feel bad for Levana in this book, but even from the first page of the book I could tell that there was something not quite right with this girl, and it wasn't just because I knew she would turn into one of the scariest villains I've read about. Even knowing that I was surprised b...

In this prequel to the Cinder series we follow Levana from the age of fifteen for a number of years, learning her backstory. Some of it we know from other books, but in case you are new to the Cinder series, there’s not really much I can tell you without spoiling those books, especially the first on...

Goodreads review: Mirror, mirror on the wall,Who is the fairest of them all?Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never ...
