Shel Silverstein was one of my favorite authors as a child, he introduced me to poetry and certainly helped significantly in nourishing my love of books and reading. I will always hold fond memories of all of his books very near and dear to my heart and Falling Up is certainly no exception. I was in...
Books Make the World a Better Place
This book can truly be utilized for all grades. However, it is an excellent resource for fourth and fifth grades. The poems are not lengthy and still maintain simple verbiage. I recently used several of the poems for an inference lesson. Truly, this book and Where the Sidewalk Ends are wonderful ...

She Thought What?!?! Rants, Raves, and In-Betweens
Falling Up by Shel Silverstein is another great poem and drawing book. My daughter and I, just can't get enough of Shel Silverstein. The poems are funny, and the drawings are silly. This book will bring a smile to your face.

Some of my favorite childhood poetry
Muddled, Mystified & Marvelous Musings
After seeing this on one of my friends list I couldn’t resist re-reading it. I read this book to my children when they were small. It’s both entertaining and educational. It’s a great way to introduce children to art, poetry and the limitless of one’s imagination.

This book was OK, it was probably better if you are younger. But I really didn't enjoy it all that much.

I had every single poem in this book memorized as a child. I still have some of them memorized now. I will still sit down and read through all of Silverstein's books some evenings.
