Rating: 3.5★ I enjoyed the narration by Paula Christensen and Jesse Bernstein. While I really liked the characters and will continue on to book 2 at some point, I don't know that I would have continued had it not been for the audio. I think I might have lost some interest when we got to the election...

In 2014, the Rising happened. The dead came back to life and went on the rampage, biting or simply splattering the living to try to spread the infection. Millions died and the only reason more didn’t die was the Bloggers – while the news was telling the world that everything was ok, the Bloggers tol...

Well, hello there my fellow bibliophiles!I just want to make a confession at the head of this review. I am a zombie fan. I have been ever since I was 8 years old and watched George Romero’s seminal 1960’s classic Night of the Living Dead. I firmly believe that Romero’s flicks are not just trashy hor...

I did want more, this is after all Seanan McGuire we are talking about, but then nothing compare to her October books. I love those. The book was well written, it threw a few punches that made me sit up but for me, yeah, me and thrillers are not exactly a couple. And that is what it was. Lots of poli...

"The zombies are here, and they’re not going away, but they’re not the story. They were, for one hot, horrible summer at the beginning of the century, but now they’re just another piece of the way things work. They did their part: They changed everything."If you're looking for a simple zombie book, ...

I would have given this 2.5 stars but the last 20% or so salvaged it for me a bit. I just don't think zombies are my thing. I can't remember the last time I took so long to finish a book and wanted to like it so much more than I did. **shrugs**

A terrific, fast-moving zombie novel that adds a the fresh element of a generation grown-up post-apocalypse, with additional cogent insight into the creation, delivery, and manipulation of the news. It's a real-page turner.

I'm still waffling between 4 & 4.5 stars. Review to come.

Not one for zombie books usually, I picked this one up because it came so highly recommended. The plot sounded like it had more to it than some shambling corpses moaning "braaaaiiins" while doing the zombie shuffle. I was expecting interesting zombie novel. I got blood-racing mystery, action and hea...
