Fired Up by Jayne Ann Krentz Book 7 of Arcane Society -- Book 1 of Dreamlight Trilogy More than three centuries ago, Nicholas Winters irrevocably altered his genetic makeup in an obsession-fueled competition with alchemist and Arcane Society founder Sylvester Jones. Driven to control their psyc...

Actual rating 3.75 stars. I find I enjoy the historical novels in this series more, though they all tend to follow the same general pattern.
Jack needs help from Chloe with the Burning Lamp to not turn into the monster his great grandfather cursed their line with. And of course Nightshade is in the works, waiting for a chance to gain power. Fallon from J&J makes an appearance, too.
