Started slow, but got much more compelling once characters started telling each other about the plotlines they were in. The series continues to be rather like a somewhat grittier and more desaturated Valdemar, with all the pros and cons that entails, and in some moods that's just what one wants.
I want to like this series much more than I do, but the comparisons the Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar books are too strong to ignore. That and it's trope upon trope upon trope. Excellent addition to the Green Rider series!Though not very prominent, the romance in this book is still preeetty adorable!Action-packed, fast paced surprisingly intense and heart-wrenching in some places.Recommended!
