A short story, inflated to a novella, marketed as a novel. I did appreciate that this installment had more of an actual story arc than most late series Blake novels - the length kept it from spinning too far off the rails. It also focused primarily (though not entirely) on her necromancy more than o...

I should say up front so you can evaluate my review that I greatly enjoyed the first 8 or so of the Anita Blake books up to around Obsidian Butterfly. I'm one of those that believe the series badly went wrong with the ardeur with its have sex or die imperative and books filled with so many chapters ...

1st review n' 2nd read. Only a SS so i'm gonna alter my rating from a 5star to a 4star. I did enjoy it, just it was so short and i would have loved to read more. It felt rushed and not completely done and it ruined a bit for me. I liked the premise of it tho. And Anita's actions and her new mind fuc...

This one was hard to rate. I enjoyed reading more of Anita's job, but I basically just skim the sex scenes. Will continue the series because I must know how it all ends, but I have to say I'm not as excited about the books as I was when I first started the series.
