Floris M. Kleijne was born in 1970 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, where nothing of any consequence happened to him until he learned to write. Even after acquiring that invaluable skill, he spent years majoring in biology, baking croissants, teaching computer courses, moving boxes of bank forms around, and clerking for a solicitor, before he finally sold his first English-language short story.His second and third stories were published in consecutive volumes of the Writers of the Future anthologies. Since then, he has published short stories in English and Dutch in a wild variety of media, and edited a Dutch-language anthology of speculative fiction. He is the first ever Dutchman to qualify for active membership of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America, the SFWA.He still lives in Amsterdam, but these days he shares his house with a beautiful wife, two cheerful little boys, and a moody cat.
