Sometimes all you can do is fly away home . . . When Sylvie Serfer met Richard Woodruff in law school, she had wild curls, wide hips, and lots of opinions. Decades later, Sylvie has remade herself as the ideal politician's wife--her hair dyed and straightened, her hippie-chick wardrobe replaced by tailored knit suits. At fifty-seven, she ruefully acknowledges that her job is staying twenty pounds thinner than she was in her twenties and tending to her husband, the senator. Lizzie, the Woodruffs' younger daughter, is at twenty-four a recovering addict, whose mantra HALT (Hungry? Angry? Lonely? Tired?) helps her keep her life under control. 4.0 Fly Away Home: A Novel
Very nice read about mother-daughters relationships. I enjoyed it a lot although sometimes it appeared too fictional and sweet, that' s why 4 and not 5 stars. But still, not bad.

3.5 out of 5. Good, but predictable. Too many current references to popular culture -- cute, but will be dated very quickly. Selma is my favourite character, but she simply doesn't appear often enough in the story. Pity. For the longer review, please go here:http://www.epinions.com/review/Book_Fly_Aw...
