This is an extended (much extended) edition of the story "Forever". Not only do you get to know the previous young men that come to the island of all gay men, but you get to find out what happens when one of the two main characters in part one leaves, and the other has to pick up the pieces. It has three parts, the first was what happened in Forever, (although one name i think was changed). In part two a very smart young man develops a way of taking people from the past (a secret project), and he gets to save someone he had a crush on (but never met) from dying. They fall in love and marry. In the last part of the book, it is a year later and they have set up a test for two young men that want to become the next caretakers of the island. When they pass the tests, they will find out that their competitive natures towards each other hid an attraction. Finally, the man who they had known as the Caretaker, two of them had known as a baby, and he reveals the reason why he wants to leave the job and be reunited with his father. The three parts are not marked separately, but in later parts there are different narrators to the story.
