FORGET ME NEVER (PT. 1): THE SEARCH FOR A VAMPIRE

The first of a two part series!

Baron could not have disappeared into thin air. I feel his energy and the pull is strong. The stairway ends. I dart down another hallway peppered with busy people, through another exit, and down the final flights of stairs. I end up in a cold, dusky parking structure. A car is parked in every space marked Reserved, but there’s no one in sight.
“Baron!” I call while looking around. I know he’s here because I can feel him.
Something strange and possibly dangerous is going on. I search between the cars. Maybe Gia hurt Baron and he’s lying on the grimy concrete, injured and too weak to answer. Just in case our recent venture into blood-drinking abstinence has rendered him unable to see through my shield of blindness, I remove it.
And then, in a flash, I’m wrapped up from behind. Two fangs sink into the side of my neck. I’m stunned by the sensations that surge through my body and also by the awareness that the feeder is not Baron Ze Feldis.
