Absolute genius! Saying much about the plot would spoil the fun, so I will restrict myself to noting that Gaiman isn't the first author I've come across who has a bit of a dig at Twilight's sparkly vampires and that it's a safe bet the author has seen The Usual Suspects.

Fortunately, the Milk by Neil Gaiman with illustrations by Skottie Young is simply delightful. It's hard for me to decide which was more enjoyable: the writing or the drawings. Honestly, I think that the reason I enjoyed this book so much was that the two of them paired so well together. This is exa...

This one is a fast, fun read. The pictures add a lot to the laughter inducing ride too. And I loved some of the reference zings.

Let us rejoice! After much searching, I’ve finally found another Neil Gaiman book that I enjoyed. Fortunately, The Milk amused me probably far more than it should have, considering I’m an adult reading a kids’ book. A time-traveling genius stegosaurus (girl power!), snot bubble aliens, jungle savage...

Dad goes to the shops, but is gone for really rather a long time. When he returns, he explains to his children why he was gone for so long. It's a story of adve...

Neil Gaiman has been on my radar since I listened to one of his novels on audio this summer. Another blogger brought this novel to my attention a couple weeks ago as she read this children’s story to her son and they really enjoyed it. This is one wacky read and I can see how kids would love to have...

**Children's Sci-Fi/Fantasy**After I finished reading this with my son before bed last night, he declared it was the best book he's ever read. He's a bit of a bookworm (like his mother) so this was a fairly weighty statement. I too was impressed with this sci-fi children's fantasy. It begins with th...

And for adults like me who like children book. This is great. The story is silly and simple and Neil Gaiman tied it neatly together with a bottle of milk. Just brilliant. Good for young children who like story that is a bit silly. 5 stars for this one. Added stars for the illustration.
