Dr. Frank J. Sileo is the Executive Director of The Center for Psychological Enhancement, LLC. He received his Doctorate in psychology from Fordham University in New York City. He received his Master of Science degree from Fordham University and his Bachelor's degree from Iona College in New Rochelle, New York. Dr. Sileo has been in private practice in Ridgewood, New Jersey since 1995. Since 2010, Dr. Sileo has been consistently selected as one of New Jersey's Top Kids' Docs by readers of New Jersey Family magazine. His academic and professional career has included broad based experiences and accomplishments. Dr. Sileo has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in inpatient hospital and outpatient settings. He has served as site administrator for three different residential treatment facilities for children and young adults. He has taught counseling and psychology at Fordham University and Saint Thomas Aquinas College. He is currently the supervisor of doctoral students in the clinical psychology program at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Dr. Sileo is a member of the American Psychological Association, the New Jersey Psychological Association, and the Bergen County Psychological Association. He served as the chairperson for the Task Force on Health Psychology through the New Jersey Psychological Association. He is currently a board member of the Bergen County Psychological Association. He is a member of the National Honor Society for Psychology (Psi Chi) where he served as president of his undergraduate school's chapter. He also served as a past board member for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America's New Jersey chapter. He has also served on the Support Group Task Force for the National Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. He is one of the founding members of the Bergen County Professionals' Healthy Living Project and is a member of the Northern New Jersey Maternal/Child Health Consortium. Dr. Sileo is an award winning author and an active public speaker. He is the author of seven, soon to be eight children's books: Toilet Paper Flowers: A Story for Children about Crohn's Disease, Hold the Cheese Please! A Story for Children about Lactose Intolerance, Bug Bites and Campfires: A Story for Kids about Homesickness and Sally Sore Loser: A Story about Winning and Losing, Don't Put Yourself Down in Circus Town: A Story about Self-Confidence and A World of Pausabilities: An Exercise in Mindfulness. In October 2017, his seventh children's book will be released entitled, Did You Hear? A Story about Gossip. His eighth children's book will be released in 2018. Sally Sore Loser, Don't Put Yourself Down in Circus Town and A World of Pausabilities are the Gold Medal recipients of the prestigious Mom's Choice Award. He also won the Silver Medal from the Moonbeam Children's Book Awards for his book Don't Put Yourself Down in Circus Town. He received a Silver medal for A World of Pausabilities from the Independent Publisher Book Awards "The IPPY." Toilet Paper Flowers and Hold the Cheese Please! are the first and only books for children on Crohn's disease and lactose intolerance. His book on a type of bullying will be released in October of 2017. His research has been published in professional psychological journals. He has presented his research at professional conferences in the United States and Canada. He has written extensive general interest articles and has been quoted in various local and national newspapers, magazines, and web sites such as the New York Times, Bergen Record, Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Psychology Today, Everydayhealth.com, AOL.com, WebMD.com, iVillage.com, and SheKnows.com. He is often interviewed by the media for his various areas of expertise. He has been featured on WCBS radio, Radio Disney and has given web casts on Health Talk and has been interviewed about his practice on medicalcrossfire.com. He has been interviewed on television by Ernie Anastos on Fox 5 News and Steve Adubato on Caucus NJ on Channel 13. In addition, Dr. Sileo has been asked to provide lectures and workshops for the local community, corporate organizations and in major cities in the areas of bullying, self-esteem, stress management, coping with chronic illness, and the psychological aspects of Crohn's disease.
