Ha! I'm listening to the part where Ross is visiting Hank's farm (don't worry, that's not a spoiler)(and I'm cracking up that the reader gave Farmer Hank the voice of Hank Hill ("King of the Hill"))EN EE way...so Hank is explaining how they're using crops and animals to restore the soil and how chic...
3 1/2 starsI glad I got past my dislikes of the first book and gave the sequel a shot. All the annoying things about the last book were almost non-existent in this one. Shows you that experience and a good editor can make an average book to a great book. I love the fact that this was so entertain...
I'd thought the first book was dark, but wow, Freedom (TM) takes it even further. Anyway, high marks on the story, but downgraded to 3 stars because I can't say it was the satisfactory conclusion I expected. I mentioned in the review of Daemon that in the second half of the book everything seemed to...
More fun. To be read after Daemon #1, seems like a two part serial, like one of the movies of long ago.

I think I finished this book in less than 24hours, and now I'm just sad that its over... /sulk.I enjoyed Freedom much more than Daemon - which I also gave 5-stars. If you haven't yet read this series, add it to your ToRead list!I would love to say more about this book, but I really don't want to sp...
A mostly satisfying conclusion. It feels a little simplistic though. For example, in my state, Washington, Western Washington isn't really agricultural, but Eastern Washington is. However, Eastern Washington couldn't grow crops without the irrigation from Western Washington. To say nothing of the fa...
A fantastic book which goes beyond mere science fiction fantasy to touch on philosophical problems faced in any democracy. I should mention that reading Daemon prior to this book is an almost must as Suarez doesn't go into a great amount of detail concerning past events. Highly recommend both book...
This direct sequel to Daemon moves directly from that novel's closing premise: a baroquely-potent bot, designed by a nefarious and brilliant gaming programmer, has spread out into the web and begun building elaborate disruptions--and alternatives--to society. As the book closed, a secret government...
